Today I had the best fun holding a “High Tea” at my house for my friends and I. We had a wonderful time, and it made me realise…
High Tea is really just tea with extra mindfulness.
It’s all about stopping to take notice of – and enjoy – the little things that we normally overlook.
Beautiful china.
White clean tablecloths.
and my favourite…
Small morsels of yummy cakes and sandwiches.
I love that – the extra small portions of food. Instead of the frequent approach to food in our society – gluttony. And more is better.
High Tea is all about eating and drinking tea in moderation. With mindfulness.
Appreciating the tastes and textures and colours.
The feel of the fine china.
And of being mindful of the entire experience itself, and dedicating time to enjoy it and make it special.
There is a great deal of poetry and fine sentiment in a chest of tea.

Glad you enjoyed it! i would too!
Thanks Nikky 🙂 ♥
I love high tea and yours looks particularly yummy :o)
It was actually the first high tea I have ever had – and i loved every moment of it :-). It was especially poignant to me to use my late grandmas china. I’ve held on to it, and not used it – for fear of breaking it. But lately I’ve come to realise that she would want me to use it. And I felt so connected to her today. That china was such a big part of my childhood. ♥
that sounds lovely, and those foods look so yummy
Thank you so much Terry :-). They really were so yummy. My favourite was the french vanilla slice. Yum 🙂 ♥
That looks exceptionally delicious. The china is so pretty. I’m so glad you had a good time. I love how you relate High Tea to mindfulness. It’s true. 🙂
Thank you so much for your lovely comment :-). It really so was special.
That looks yummy – I’ve not had high tea in ages. Think I might grab a friend and venture out next week 🙂
Sonds wonderful
Thank you so much Pat 🙂
I love this Megan. What a great idea. 🙂
Thank you Brenda :-). The thing that I loved the most was how much joy it brought to everyone. And it was a very ‘community minded’ afternoon tea. We all contributed and had so much fun planning it. My lovely neighbour Sue contributed the silverware – forks, spoons, sugar pot etc. I contributed the slices and tea set. etc. We all pitched in, and that’s what made it so special. And we have decided we loved it so much we are going to do it at least once a week 🙂
How nice. Enjoy.
So awesome!!!!
Thank you so much :-). Love & blessings to you ♥
Thank you 🙂 ♥
